Job Description
Responsibilities
· Support the development and progression of the Operations Readiness (OR) schedule to transition the facility from EPC to the operations phase.
· Facility Surveillance: develop / optimize surveillance plans and execute engineering monitoring activities (downtime analysis, process bad actors, bottleneck identification, and issue identification) to support Operations in ensuring maximum facility availability. This will include using sound engineering judgment to analyze the performance of field equipment including piping systems, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, dehydration units and processing equipment such as sulfur recovery systems, water treatment systems, and natural gas liquid recovery systems.
· Opportunity Generation & Management of Change: develop recommendations to management for initiatives or projects to optimize production, improve reliability, reduce costs and/or prevent future problems. Coordinate concept finalization and scope of work development to hand over to an executing organization (Project or Maintenance). If not leading a change, support the relevant function (Operations, Maintenance, etc.) in evaluation of the technical details of the change and completion of required analysis prior to implementation.
· Provide technical expertise and assist with training other engineers by providing instruction on technologies, engineering calculations, train performance optimization, etc.
· Support procedure development and training related to projects, temporary or new modes of operation, and compliance.
· Competent in complex process engineering analysis and design. Capable of assimilating new technologies and methods.
· Develop process simulations for complex units and other advanced tools for facility process analysis as appropriate.
· Design and carry out tests in the interest of enhancing production or solving process problems.
· Develop process basis, preliminary estimates, and schedules for project design scopes.
· Assure that the design of equipment used in the facility is in accordance with good engineering practices, applicable industry codes / standards and consistent with the company’s business needs.
· Conduct Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) utilizing What-if and Hazard and Operability Review (HAZOP) methodologies.
· Participate on and lead incident investigation teams.
· Participate in regulatory agency audits.
· Work with Engineering Supervisor & Manager, to define problems, establish work scopes, prepare task budgets and schedules, plan work, provide technical direction, and report the work status to management.
· Reinforce safety and environmental awareness through frequent job observations and by interfacing with plant personnel.
· Work with Engineering and Construction department to assure O&M interests are represented on major projects.
· Interact with and support Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments as required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
· Professional Engineer (PE) License or equivalent CEng license is preferred.
· Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Senior Process Engineer in the LNG industry.
· Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Experience in all aspects of process engineering from conceptual design, economics, detailed engineering, and plant startup and troubleshooting.
· Commissioning, start-up, and performance testing at project sites is a plus.
· Strong understanding of key equipment involved in LNG liquefaction facilities.
· Possess effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software, and discipline specific software applications such as HYSYS, Aspen Plus, etc.
· Skilled in the application of relevant major design codes and standards.
· Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.
